Dayanna Macias-Carlos, MPA

Dayanna, Founder and Principal of Pitaya, brings 15+ years of public service experience, leading statewide communication strategies across state, regional, and foundation campaigns. She specializes in directing comprehensive efforts, including paid, ethnic, multicultural, and earned media, social media, and research, with expertise in both quantitative and qualitative evaluation.

Lizeth Calderon

Liz, Director of Narrative and Capacity Building, brings an equity-centered approach rooted in partnership and designed to support sustainable, values-driven impact. Their experience spans over a decade in community engagement, strategic communications, program development, and internal systems design—crafting processes that strengthen collaboration, clarity, and organizational resilience.

Michelle Rivera

Michelle, Director of Communications and Strategy is deeply rooted in the rural communities of the Central Valley, brings over 10 years of experience in reproductive and social justice advocacy. With strong skills in project and program management, strategic planning, and capacity building, they have worked on grassroots organizing and advocacy at local and statewide levels through community engagement and coalition building.

Andres "Andy" Diaz

Andres, Senior Communications Strategist at Pitaya, brings over three years of experience in foundation communications, with a focus on content creation, media strategy, and event coordination. Based in the Bay Area, he previously supported high-impact communications and digital campaigns for a foundation out of New York City. Andres holds a background in Political Science and Marketing from Fordham University and is passionate about using storytelling to support equity-driven work and community impact.

Brittany Mina

Mina joins as a Brand Development & Design Strategist, bringing extensive experience in media production, design, project and retail management, brand ambassadorship, and online marketing. She is passionate about arts and culture, health and wellness, as well as community events and event planning.

Alexis Morales, MPA

Alexis, Strategic Operations and Communications Analyst, blends equity-focused communications with policy insight and community engagement. Completing a B.S. in Public Policy and an MPA at the University of Southern California, he brings a strong foundation in policy analysis, program management, and collaborative leadership. Drawing on proven experience in organizing and research, he crafts culturally relevant messaging, builds authentic relationships, and designs strategies that drive measurable, sustainable impact.
